Identify common health problems associated with poor ergonomics and its impact in the work force. 2. Understand the role and the importance of occupational therapy in the field of ergonomics. 3. Meet the Instructor
Dr. Priya Parekh, OTD, OTR/L, CEAS earned her bachelors degree in occupational therapy from Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital (MUHS) before she completed her masters degree and doctorate in occupational therapy from University of Southern California. She completed her doctoral residency at USC Occupational Therapy Faculty Practice where she implemented lifestyle interventions to promote health and wellness of individuals with mental health conditions, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and chronic pain amongst others. She also has extensive experience in the field of ergonomics. Dr. Parekh, clinical setting experience includes skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinic. Dr. Parekh performs clinical evaluations and treatments for both the pediatric and adult population with developmental disabilities, and orthopedic conditions amongst others. She collaborates with the patient and their family members to improve their occupational independence. Dr. Parekh has presented at the AOTA, Arizona Occupational Therapy Association, and other conferences. When she is not working, she likes to read books and explore places.
